Description
You will learn simple solutions and strategies to lay the foundation for a successful start to the school year.
Sustainability over consistency is key. The paradox of ADHD is we love and hate routines. Even the word “routine” can make an ADHDer cringe. Instead, make it fun, keep it simple, and focus on 1 ritual to help prepare for the school schedules. It’s best to start with a regular bedtime and then add a wake-up time, meal times, and homework periods into your life.
Be your own medicine. Teach your child mindfulness skills and fun relaxation techniques. These can be useful during moments of stress, before tackling challenging tasks, or before going to bed!
Move to improve. Regular physical activity can greatly benefit kids and adults with ADHD. It helps burn excess energy and improves concentration, mood, and sleep. Movement can help you feel tired at the end of the day, and help you prepare for sleep.
